WE ARE COMMITTED TO BUILDING CAPACITY IN THE WATER SECTOR, SAYS WATER MINISTER
The Honourable Minister of Water Resources Engr. Suleiman H. Adamu FNSE, FNAH, FAEng stated this during the Opening Remark at the just concluded Retreats on Administrative Procedure, Procurement and Due Process for Managing Directors/Executive Directors of River Basins and Directors/Deputy Directors of the Ministry held on 9th-12th October, 2019 at Ibom Resort, Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State.
The Permanent Secretary FMWR, Mrs Ekaro Comfort Chukumuebobo who represented the Honourable Minister noted that no organization can grow without regular capacity building. It is expected that at the end of the Retreat, Officers capacity would be strengthened towards efficient and effective service delivery for the Ministry and the Country at large, therefore it is the obligation of all Participants to pay more than usual attention to this highly educative programme,” she said.
She informed Participants that the training programme is in continuation of a similar one held at Kaduna early this year. Speaking on the benefits of that Programme, she said that it availed top Management Officers opportunity to discuss and exchange views across professional lines. It was also an avenue for Officers to engage peer review of their schedule of duties, for the overall benefit of Ministry’s human capacity development, she concluded.
The Retreat for the Managing Directors/Executive Directors of River Basins was held on 9th-10th October, 2019 while that of the Top Managements Staff of the Ministry took place from 11th-12th October, 2019 respectively at the same Venue. Papers were presented on Leadership/Succession Plan, Time Management, Pension Fund Admin/Retirement Planning, Procurement/ Due Process etc. The Retreats Ended with a presentation of Communique.
