THE PERMANENT SECRETARY IBRAHIM W. MUSA Ph.D INAUGURATES THE LOCAL ORGANIZING COMMITTEE FOR THE 25TH REGULAR MEETING OF NATIONAL COUNCIL ON WATER RESOURCES
The Permanent Secretary, Musa W. Ibrahim today inaugurated the Local Organising Committee for the 25th Regular Meeting of National Council on Water Resources. In his address, he heartily congratulated members of the Committee and revealed that they were chosen on the basis of their individual merit and urged them to accept the burden of responsibility bestowed upon as they carry out this national assignment. “You should see your selection as a clarion call to duty. On my part, I remain ever available to your Committee and urge you to knock on my door at any time you require my intervention,” he said.
The 24th Regular Meeting of the National Council on Water Resources was held at the International Culture and Events Centre, (The Dome), Akure, Ondo State from 14th to 17th August, 2017. The Meeting was declared open by the Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) and chaired by the Honourable Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman Adamu, FNSE, who is also the Chairman of the Council.
The Council was attended by 893 participants comprising Honourable Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries responsible for Water Resources from the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, Managing Directors and Executive Directors of the twelve (12) River Basin Development Authorities (RBDAs), Directors of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, Heads of the Ministry’s Parastatals, Representatives of the Federal Ministries of Health, Education, Power, Agriculture and Environment, Chief Executives of State Water Agencies, International Transboundary Water Agencies, (the Niger Basin Authority (NBA); the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC), Representatives of some Development Partners; USAID, members of the Academia, Non-Governmental Organizations, Civil Society Organizations, gentlemen of the Press and the general Public. The newly inaugurated LOC are to facilitate preparation for the forth-coming 25th Regular Meeting Of National Council on Water Resources.
