The Honourable Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman H. Adamu FNSE on 23rd May, 2019 at the Conference Room of Federal Ministry of Water Resources, Abuja signed a Memorandum of Understanding  with Niger State Government. The Director Water Supply and PPP, Engr. Benson Ajisegiri, FNSE in his Opening remarks gave a brief on the status of the Project and explained why it was necessary for the Ministry to intervene in completion of the Project abandoned over 20 years ago.

The  Honourable Minister of Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman H. Adamu, FNSE in his speech restated FG commitment to complete all abandoned projects in the country. The Ministry has put all mechanism in place to ensure that citizens have access to quality water, sanitation and hygiene in line with the Sustainable Development Goal 6 he said and that it was in this vein that FG had signed Mou with some States to take over and complete projects that will have direct impart on the citizens and improve their livelihood.

The  Executive Governor of Niger State  His Excellency  Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello who signed the MOU on behalf of the State expressed his appreciation to the FG for the timely intervention. He said it was sad that a project which started over 20 years is yet to be completed he however expressed his commitment to the delivery of the Zungeru/Wushishi Water Supply Project to the people.
