FEDERAL MINISTRY OF WATER RESOURCES INAUGURATES THE LOCAL ORGANISING COMMITTEE FOR

THE 28TH REGULAR MEETING OF NATIONAL COUNCIL ON WATER RESOURCES.

The Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Water Resources Mrs DidiWalson Jack, mni has inaugurated the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 28th Regular Meeting of National Council on Water Resources today 1st July 2021 at the Ministry’s Conference Room in Abuja.

In her Keynote Address DidiWalson Jack said that the essence of setting up this year Local Organising Committee early is to provide ample time to ensure that all the observations raised during the Review meeting of the 27th edition are adequately addressed preparatory to the 28th National Council on Water Resources.

Speaking further, she stated that the members of the Committee have been chosen on the basis of merit and reminded them that their selection comes with added responsibility and as such they should see their selection as clarion call to duty.

She promised that the Ministry will give them necessary support to ensure success of the assignment.

Earlier in her Opening Remark the Director Water Resources Planning and Technical Support Services Mrs Alice Ojowu implored the committee members to be diligent and not betray the trust reposed on them by being nominated. She enjoined the committee members to work together harmoniously to achieve required success.

The high point of the event came with the Permanent Secretary calling out the names of the Committee members, Reading the Terms of Reference of the Committee and their inauguration on this 1st day of July 2021.

The Committee is comprised of the Director WRP&TSS Mrs Alice Ojowu Chairman, 29 Members and an Adviser.

The date for the 28th NCWR which is scheduled to hold in Sokoto is yet to be announced but is expected to take place towards the end of this year.

The Regular Meeting of the National Council on Water Resources is an annual event where Council members deliberate on issues affecting Water Resources development and management with a view to proffering workable solutions towards the sustainable management of our water resources.
