Mrs Funmi Oghogho Imuetinyan (Nee Lawani) is a native of Urubi, Benin City in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State.

She attended Bendel State University Ekpoma from 1986 to 1990 where she graduated with a Bachelors of Arts (Hons) Degree in English. She also acquired a Masters in Public Administration Degree (MPA) from the University of Benin in 2001. She has attended several in-house trainings on Media and Public Relations.

She did her National Youth Service at the National Assembly Provisional Office, Wuse Abuja between 1990 and 1991.

Mrs Imuetinyan joined the Federal Civil Service on 11th November 1991 through the Presidency as an Information Officer ll at the Centre For Democratic Studies, Bwari Abuja, ( now Defunct).

She was redeployed to Federal Ministry of Information Abuja and was thereafter posted to Federal Information Centre, Benin in 1996 as an Information Officer II.

She served as a Federal Information Correspondent in the Press Crew of Edo State Government from 1999 to 2007; Secretary of Edo State FERMA Publicity Committee 2006; Member Edo State Census Publicity Committee 2006; Publicity Secretary Committee of Heads of Federal Government Establishments COHEADS, Edo State 2006-2012; Assistant Secretary Committee of Heads of Federal Government Establishments, Edo State 2012-2019; Head of Centre, Federal Information Centre Benin City 2013-2022; Secretary Committee of Heads of Federal Government Establishments, Edo State 2019-2022.

She was posted to Federal Ministry of Water Resources Abuja as a Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations Unit, from Jan 2022- Feb 2023; Head Press and Public Relations Department, Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development Abuja from March 2023-May 2023; Head Press and Public Relations Unit, Federal Ministry of Water Resources Abuja from May 2023-Date.
She is a member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists ( NUJ) Federal Information Chapel; member Nigeria Association of Women Journalists ( NAWOJ) Federal Ministry of Information and Culture Abuja Chapel.

Mrs Funmi Imuetinyan is happily married with children.
