Engr. (Mrs.) Esther Oyeronke Oluniyi (Nee Oyedepo) was born on February18, 1967 in Fiditi, Oyo State to Mr. & Mrs. James Korede& Agnes Ayoade Oyedepo of Teetu-Agba household of Ipapo, Oyo State. Having completed her High School/GCE O’level at Baptist High School, Saki, in 1982, thereafter her GCE A’levels at the then Oyo State College of Art and Science (OSCAS), Ile-Ife, she proceeded to the University of Ibadan for her four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering and graduated with honours in 1988 as the only female in her set.  She later obtained an M.Sc degree in Agricultural Engineering in 1991 from the same institution.

She started her carrier in the Federal Civil Service when she was employed and deployed to the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, Abuja in June 1991. For further professional development, she went to Netherlands on full-time study with Netherland Scholarship for PGD Diploma (PGD) in Hydraulic Engineering (Soil and Water) from the International Institute for Infrastructural, Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering, Delft, The Netherlands in 1996.She was also later privileged to undertake short courses in Water Resources Planning and Management, Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System in Water Resources and some other relevant ones.

Since the commencement of her professional career in June 1991, she has exhibited enormous experience in Water Resource Engineering and Management with expertise in project management, human resource management, quality control, policy development and public procurement, to mention only a few asides her excellent leadership, budgetary and administrative skills.

Engr. (Mrs.) Oluniyi was elected as a corporate member of The Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE) in 1998 and became registered by Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) in 2001. She is a member of other numerous professional bodies such as Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN), Nigerian Institution of Water Engineers, Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE), Nigerian Committee on Large Dams (NICOLD) and so on.

With dedication, diligence, focus and effective collaboration for career growth, she rose through the ranks and now to her present position as Deputy Director, Overseeing Irrigation and Drainage Department in Federal Ministry of Water Resources. With her 30 years cognate working experience in the field of Water Resources and Irrigation and Drainage, she has become a highly respected and resourceful professional in the development and management of irrigation and water resources projects across Nigeria.

Drawing from the strength and values of her parental/family background, Engr. (Mrs.) Esther Oyeronke Oluniyi upholds strong Christian values, moral discipline, humility, excellence and simplicity in service to God and humanity through individuals and communities. She also engages in one-on-one counselling, mentorship, on-the-job trainings, mediation among other impactful activities.
